Karnataka Public Service Commission, KPSC has postponed the First Division Assistant, FDA exam that was scheduled to be conducted today, January 24, 2021. The competitive examinations for FDA have been postponed by the Commission after the question paper leak incident. Till now six people were arrested and question paper was seized from their possession. The official statement released by the Commission reads, “Karnataka Public Service Commission postpones First Division Assistant examination that was scheduled to be held on January 24 due to unavoidable reasons. The question paper has reached to some miscreants.” While speaking to ANI, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police, (Crime) Bengaluru said, “KPSC was scheduled to hold FDA tomorrow. We received credible information that some people have got the question papers. After investigation, we arrested six people and seized question paper from their possession. We have informed KPSC about the same.” He added that Rs 24 lakhs cash and three vehicles also seized from the possession of the accused. Police identified the accused as Rachappa and Chandrappa, both kingpins and their aides Mahesh, Santosh, Srinivas, and Nikith. Chandrappa works as a commercial tax inspector in the Gandhinagar office.
A total of 3.7 lakh candidates applied for the examination out of which 2.8 lakh candidates downloaded the admission ticket. The Commission has further informed that the new dates of the exam would be released soon. The examination would be conducted to fill up 1112 posts of First Division Assistant, out of which 975 are reserved for Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) and 137 for Hyderabad Karnataka Local Cadre (HK).
